The 8th West Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

The 8th West Virginia was organized at Buffalo, West Virginia, in western Virginia in November, 1861.

The regiment was converted to the 7th West Viginia Volunteer Cavalry Regiment on January 26, 1864.
