Frank Alexander Montgomery (1830 - 1903) was born on January 7, 1830, in Adams County, Mississippi. He was first a lieutenant colonel and then a colonel of the First Mississippi Cavalry during the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865. He wrote an autobiography in 1901 called Reminiscences of a Mississippian in Times of Peace and War. He died on December 16, 1903, and is buried at Beulah Cemetery in Bolivar County, Mississippi.[1]

He also served in the Mississippi Legislature from 1880 to 1896 and one term as a judge on the Fourth Circuit District Court of Mississippi.[2]
